NEW YORK — Six people have died after a helicopter crashed in the Hudson River, the Associated Press reports.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams says a family of Spanish tourists, including three children are among those who were killed.
The incident happened near Jersey City around 3:15 p.m.
The helicopter broke apart in midair and crashed upside-down.
Emergency crews are still on the scene of the incident, which is not far from the Water’s Soul sculpture.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it would investigate the cause of the crash.
