16-year-old killed in shooting in Burien home Friday night

BURIEN, Wash. — A person found shot inside a Burien home died on the scene, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).

King County Deputies responded to the scene of a shooting at a house in the 100 block of SW 142nd Street at around 5:03 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with gunshot wounds.

Medics and deputies tried to give aid to the teen, but he died on the scene.

“I’ve had a few interactions with them, so it’s just, I feel bad for them. I think it’s a horrible situation for everybody,” said a nearby resident who wanted to remain anonymous.

A Burien homeowner told KIRO 7 she saw the family standing outside the house after it happened.

“I thought there would be more emotion reaction from the people if there was somebody that was deceased, but we didn’t see that,” she explained.

She shared a Ring video showing cop cars and ambulances flooding into her neighborhood.

But just half an hour before, her cameras caught three to four teens walking into the house.

“I did notice them all going into the basement unit of the house. And then next thing I caught was a video from my ring of a police officer walking down the driveway,” the neighbor explained.

King County Sheriff has not confirmed whether the victim and suspect are in the video or what led up to the shooting.

Deputies said they have not taken anyone into custody for the shooting.

They said they don’t think there is a threat to the public at the moment.

Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.

KCSO plan to release additional details as the case develops.
