AUBURN, Wash. — Three women are recovering at Harborview Medical Center after a shooting at a youth homelessness housing building in Auburn.
Around 4:20 p.m., many units from Valley Regional Fire responded to the Phoenix Rising apartments on 26th Street Northeast in Auburn. Phoenix Rising is a program for young adults experiencing homelessness.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
Police are still working to learn if the three women were living at the apartments or if some were visiting. It’s also not known at this time how the shooter knew them.
The extent of their injuries is unknown, but all three were sent to Harborview in Seattle.
All the victims are in their 20s, police told KIRO 7.
One of the women is in satisfactory condition, another is in serious condition and the third is critical.
A fourth gunshot victim was accounted for away from the scene. According to Auburn police, that gunshot victim made his way to Tukwila and walked into Southcenter Mall with a gunshot wound in his arm.
The fourth victim is in satisfactory condition.
