Downpours that drenched some spots for the evening commute are moving into the Cascades as the evening goes along but a few more areas of heavy rainfall are coming into the coast. While overall coverage of rainfall will diminish through midnight, some heavy rain will still occur.
With plenty of leaves down, we will have some standing water in spots where heavy rain falls and wind gusts still in the 25-35 mph range, though winds will be slowly diminishing into the night. Use caution driving at night, as water or tree debris could be around and not visible until too late!
Into Friday morning, expect some rain showers to continue in the convergence zone but tapering all the while. Elsewhere by morning, fewer and lighter showers will remain. By afternoon, we’ll have some breaks of sunshine and the rain will be ending.
In the Cascades through this evening and tonight, we’ll have some snow above 5,000 feet with heavy snow around Mount Baker and the North Cascades Highway. At Stevens Pass, rain will turn to snow after midnight with a few inches of snow by morning. Snoqualmie Pass will remain just rain into Friday.
The weekend still looks dry with some sunshine but partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the 50s on Saturday with some low 60s from Seattle on Sunday.
Some light rain showers will be around on Monday with drier weather Tuesday. The forecast from next Wednesday and beyond looks wet at times though not necessarily stormy.
