Person of interest in Everett stabbing arrested an hour later on drug charge, released next day

EVERETT, Wash. — A person of interest in the Everett stabbing of a 13-year-old boy who was on their way to school Thursday was unknowingly arrested by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office less than an hour after the stabbing on an unrelated drug charge, according to the Everett Police Department.

The Everett Police Department has identified Andrew Freeman as a person of interest in the stabbing in front of North Middle School.

Police say the boy was stabbed multiple times during the unprovoked attack. He is expected to recover.

Officers are asking the public for help, hoping someone might know where he is.

According to jail records, Freeman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail Thursday at 9:21 a.m. by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of possessing prescription drugs without a prescription.

That was less than an hour after the stabbing.

According to jail records, Freeman was released the next day at 2:14 p.m.

If you see Freeman, do not approach him. Instead, call 911 right away.
