Over 19K of those still in the dark are PSE customers. Early Monday morning, PSE posted an updated timeline of power outage restoration:
- Most Kitsap and King County customers will have power restored by the end of day Monday 10/27. Outages in the North Bend area may extend into Tuesday 10/28.
- The majority of customers in Pierce County will have power restored by the end of Tuesday 10/28. Outages in the Cascade foothills could extend into Wednesday 10/29 due to the extent of damage in areas including Prairie Ridge, Victor Falls, and Ponderosa Estates.
- Thurston County experienced heavy damage; power will be restored to customers over the coming days, but it will take until Tuesday evening and into early Wednesday 10/29 for that work to finish.
PREVIOUS COVERAGE:
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported that as of 11 p.m. on Sunday, over 37,000 customers remained without power following powerful winds and rain Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The heaviest damage was seen between Thurston and Pierce Counties, bringing down local and transmission powerlines, according to PSE.
PSE reported Sunday morning that they had deployed helicopters to assess damage from downed powerlines, mostly caused by falling tree limbs.
Uprooted trees in Thurston County caused “extensive” structural damage to the electrical system.
“We understand how difficult it is to be without power. Crews will continue assessing damage and repairing power lines as quickly as they can,” assured PSE.
