Interstate 5 was shut down for about an hour Wednesday morning because of downed high-voltage power lines near Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The lines fell at milepost 116.
Northbound traffic is getting by on the shoulder. Southbound I-5 remains closed.
According to Washington State Patrol, traffic was diverted to Mounts Road until Puget Sound Energy could safely remove the lines.
All power supply along I-5 from Carpenter Road in Lacey to Gravelly Lake Drive Southwest in Lakewood was impacted.
The electronic reader boards were also down.
