BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says a large sinkhole swallowed a portion of Hannegan Road in Bellingham on Tuesday.
Officials have closed Hannegan Road between East Bakerview Road and Van Wyck Road and set up detours to go around the sinkhole.
The Sheriff’s office asks drivers to watch their speed in detour areas with deputies patrolling the area.
