YELM, Wash. — People living in the Clearwood neighborhood of Yelm were told to “be ready” to evacuate as a wildfire was actively burning.
The Level 1 evacuation orders were issued for those around Bald Hills Road and Sorenson Road. Bald Hills Road was closed from Sorenson Road to the Clearwood back gate.
Sheriff Derek Sanders announced that the fire was contained as of 9 p.m. and no escalated evacuation notices were necessary.
